IGCC, short for Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle,is an advance power system integrating gasification technology with high effective combined cycle。It is comprised of two major parts, the gasification and clarification of the coal and gas-steam combine cycle generation. The first part mainly has equipments including gasifier, the air separation plant, gas purification equipment (including sulfur recovery unit) ; the second part mainly has gas turbine power generation systems, waste heat boiler, steam turbine generating system. The IGCC process is as follows: when gasified, the coal becomes gas of a low calorific value, after purification, sulphide, nitride, dust and other pollutants are removed from the gas and thus it got clarified, after that, it is sent to the combustion chamber of the gas turbine. Here the gas is heated to drive a gas turbine power, and gas turbine exhaust enters into the waste heat boiler for water heating, then the steam generated to drive steam turbine power.
IGCC technology integrates high efficient gas and steam combined cycle power generation system and clean coal technologies. This kind of technology has both high-efficiency of power generation and excellent environmental performance. It is a promising clean coal power generation technology. In the current level of technology, IGCC power generation can reach a net efficiency up to 43% of to 45%, and is expected to reach higher in the future. And pollutant emissions is only is only 1 / 10 of that emitted in conventional coal-fired power station, and its desulphurization efficiency can reach up to 99 percent, sulfur dioxide emissions in about 25 mg/Nm3. (The current national level of sulphur dioxide is 1200 mg/Nm3), nitrogen oxides emissions is only 15% - 20% of that of conventional power stations, water consumption is only 1/2-1/3 of that of conventional power station. This means great significance for environmental protection. |
